The comfort of deliberately going out of tune, combined with the resonance of bitter blues—this is the playful songwriting that only THOMAS BUSH can deliver! Highly recommended. THOMAS BUSH—who has demonstrated his genius for subverting established genre boundaries through solo works on 〈LOST DOMAIN〉 and 〈KASHUAL PLASTIK〉, as well as collaborative projects like CITRUS & MUSK with JOHN T. GAST—makes his debut on 〈AGUIRRE〉. If one were to give it a name, it would be “chamber folk”—chamber music where both melody and rhythm drift and sway.
Track List

A true musical prodigy from Malmö, THOMAS BUSH has pursued a wide-ranging career—not only as a solo artist but also through collaborations with GUY GORMLEY, JON AUMAN, and FERGUS JONES—tracing a diverse musical journey. This solo release marks a remarkable achievement, coming from the Belgian label 〈AGUIRRE〉. A collection of elegant yet somewhat wavering chamber folk tracks woven together by his distorted songwriting. The bassline—which stands out and feels somewhat out of place—seems to be a favorite of his and defines the album’s character. Beyond that, however, both the synths and guitars possess a stoner-rock-inspired, warped sound that connects with the melancholy of the blues and the euphoria of psychedelia. The sound vividly reflects his unique sensibility, which equally embraces ambiguity and clarity. Limited edition press with a rough-edged jacket. Highly recommended. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
