Dangerous sample usage, such as NOMADY SOUL’s rare groove track “Creés qué soy Sexy?” (1979), a Spanish-language cover of ROD STEWART’s classic hit “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?”! The fifth installment of the highly acclaimed 〈ILLEGAL DISCO〉 limited series by Mexico City-based digger and edit master MONSIEUR VAN PRATT is a compilation featuring trusted allies like DISCO 86.
Track List
The latest release from record collector MONSIEUR VAN PRATT’s *ILLEGAL DISCO* series—which caused a huge stir with its fourth installment focusing on Japanese rare groove! DISCO 86 features a masterful arrangement that takes Rod Stewart’s original track—with its flashy sound—and reworks it with acid elements, creating a “reverse import” effect while also showcasing the playful cadence of Spanish lyrics. Led by “Crees Que Soy Sexy” (sample 1) and featuring Mexican superstar José José’s Latin disco hit “Linda Disco” (1979), this release once again showcases a digger’s unique selection and dazzling production, delivering edit-disco tracks guaranteed to get the dance floor moving instantly!
