A psychedelic, lo-fi soundscape created by sludgy yet cute effects, blending jazz and funk styles centered around roots dub. We’ve just stocked the new release from New Zealand producer Christoph El’ Truento! It’s the 〈Wonderful Noise〉 edition, complete with a sleeve.
Track List

The charming vintage keyboards, melodicas, and those squelchy, bubbling dub effects that delighted us on their previous album, *Dubs From The Neighbourhood* (’24), are still going strong. They’re back with even more warmth and a smoky vibe. As mentioned in the info, it feels almost like a medicinal remedy that soothes both body and mind... Definitely a must-have for your chill time. Highly recommended!

-info-
Auckland, New Zealand-based producer Christoph El Truento is back with his most refined work to date, *MUSICAL POWER*. Minimal yet meticulously crafted, every element of the tracks—down to the slightest movement of sound—precisely fulfills its necessary role. Following his previous release, *Dubs From The Neighbourhood*, and *Performer Dub*—which was released as a Japan-exclusive single and became a smash hit—*MUSICAL POWER* is permeated throughout by a warm tape sound deeply rooted in the tradition of early dub music, vintage keyboards, and the resonance of the melodica. While each track unfolds as an independent journey, the album as a whole paints an even larger narrative. The music here is not merely accompaniment; it exists as “rongoā” (a traditional healing remedy of the Māori, the indigenous people of New Zealand). Like a prescription carefully formulated in just the right amount to heal emotional distress, it soothes and empowers the listener. Despite its powerful concept, the sound is never overbearing; it is an album equally suited for savoring intimately through headphones or experiencing its full weight through a sound system.
