〈PERSPECTIVE〉 The highly anticipated new release from PHILIP CHERNIKOV—whose excellent EP on 〈DOWN2EARTH.WORLD〉 is still fresh in our minds—is here! Lighthearted percussion rhythms enhance the energy of the bassline, while the floating funk bass soundscapes and dub-infused ambient elements create a pleasant listening experience Tracks include “Deep The Funk” (sample 1) and “Honey Badger” (sample 2), a deep track with a nostalgic tech house vibe. With carefully crafted song structures and intricately carved percussion, it’s great to see a modern reimagining of the slow-burning, immersive sound from tech house’s golden age.
