From DJ TENNIS’s label, Life and Death, comes the debut release by Yonatan Daskal under the name Daskal, who has spent over 15 years bridging the gap between Tel Aviv’s contemporary dance, classical, and jazz scenes and the worlds of electronic and club music. Following in the footsteps of the REJOICER scene, this is another example of Israel’s electronic, jazz, and psychedelic music—elegant, experimental, and fascinating. While the situation in the Middle East remains deeply turbulent, wonderful music and culture continue to emerge from the region.
