Since his debut on Altzmusica in '17, Daisuke Kondo has steadily released music across the globe on labels such as Bosconi, Vibraphone Recordings, and Jazz Cabbage. Track A1, “The Blue Line,” features a twisted bassline, an acid-tinged feel, and a cool, wind-slicing groove, while Track A2, “Summer Suite,” is a modal piece that exudes a nicely smoldering sense of “blackness.” “Water Proof” (B1), with its water-repellent groove that brings a refreshing flow, and “Harbor Place” (B2), with its rhythmic, groovy tempo and a somewhat emotional atmosphere, are both perfect house tracks for the dance floor. This is his second release on Jitney Music—a label with which his relationship began after his work caught the eye of staff at Gramaphone Records, a long-established record shop in Chicago, the birthplace of house music.
