KEITH HUDSON—a guy who’s definitely “on the other side,” whose simple tracks are surrounded by an atmosphere that’s just plain weird, no matter how you look at it, unlike LEE PERRY’s slimy, psychedelic style. This is a high-quality 12-inch reissue from the French label DEEP ROOTS Distribution, featuring a talented artist known not only for a series of great reissues from BASIC CHANNEL and PRESSURE SOUNDS (absolutely fantastic!) but, above all, for creating the monster cult dub record “Pick A Dub.” The price is a tiiiitle on the high side, but it’s so incredibly cool that I just had to include it. It’s so cool it makes you sigh. You can’t talk about the history of Jamaican dub without mentioning this man. A must-listen for anyone captivated by the magic of roots reggae and dub—I’m giving this one a massive shout-out. It gets my blood pumping.
