〈TIME CAPSULE〉—led by London-based Kay Suzuki—has released a vinyl edition of the album Japanese Island Sounds, a collection of works that “draw on diverse ‘island sounds’ such as reggae, dub, and surf music to create a unique island-nation sound.” While the album serves as an introduction to Japanese music for international audiences, it is also a record crafted with great care—from the artwork on the sleeve and obi strip to the comments in the insert sheet, as well as its heavyweight vinyl and high-quality 45 RPM cut. Be sure to check it out. (Original Japanese text by Saito)
