Brazilian prog lords shared much of the sense of experimentation and bountiful fuzz bequeathed by their Tropicalismo forbearers. But armed with genius composers, arrangers and stupendously high-level musicianship, Som Imaginário introduced a potent harmonic complexity to Brazilian popular music, which would inspire generations of artists to come.
On 4th October 1976, having finished a spell of recording and touring with Milton Nascimento, Som Imaginário performed a concert in celebration of Nature Day in Brasília. The recordings of the show would become "Banda Da Capital", which, for the past half century, has laid dormant, waiting for its mystical power to be untapped.

南米サイケデリック、ブラジル音楽ファンに名高いミナスのグループSom Imaginarioの貴重な音源がFar Out Recordingsからリリースされました。ピアニストWANET TROP。ギターのFrederaはじめ、ミルトン・ナシメントのバンドのために結成されナナ・バスコセロス、トニオ・ホルタ、パウリーニョ・ブラガといった後のレジェンドも合流していたグループ。ドラムの彼らのアルバムで最も人気の高い「Matança Do Porco」(Arthur Verocaiと共演している)で1973年、これまでリリースされていた録音としては最後となるミルトン・ナシメントとのライヴパフォーマンスは1974年なので最後期の録音。ミルトン・ナシメントとのツアーを終え、首都ブラジリアでの"Nature Dsay"を祝い行われたコンサートの録音。1994年のレーベル発足以来一貫してブラジル音楽に取り組んできたJOE DAVISのFar Out Recordingsから貴重な音源のリリースが続きます。録音の状態も良く、最新の技術でリマスターされたFar Outワークス。 (サイトウ)
