Rothterdam-based Italomania artist DAVID VUNK released his "Bowie EP" in 2012—a labor of love featuring a lavish full-color double-page spread jacket. The front cover showcases a photo of the artist himself with a gentle expression alongside his beloved dog, Bowie, while the spine is inscribed with “Our Best Friends Bowie, Forever in Our Hearts,” and when you open the spread, it’s packed with candid shots of Bowie from the irreplaceable moments they shared together! This three-track EP is unmistakably a tribute album dedicated to his beloved dog, Bowie. Side A features the full version of “Forever Always,” a house track with soft, floating synths and ecstatic vocal samples! The track culminates in a solo of Bowie’s barking voice (see Track Listing) (lol). Then, B1 “Disco Sysex” features a fast-paced Italo beat, teased by synths that swelter and undulate, while B2 “Vroesenpark” is an experimental track with a hard-hitting kick and loops, and—once again—Bowie’s growling low voice filtered through a modulation filter.
