FRISCO’s long-awaited new release—whose album covers by the master Terry Johnson never fail to captivate us—features none other than that timeless early hip-hop/electro classic, Malcolm McLaren/ World’s Famous—a gem of a piano phrase—scattered throughout the backing track. Featuring singer-songwriter Mizuki Ohira—who has garnered attention for her smoky vocals and rich expressiveness—as a guest vocalist, this release is an elegant, melancholic rocksteady masterpiece with a mature, sophisticated vibe.

The jazzy, twilight-inspired B-side dub version—which evokes a certain Eastern European Romani-style, oriental vibe—was produced by E-Mura of Bim One Production. Released on Hong Kong Elevators, a trusted independent label based in Tokyo. The artwork is by master artist Terry Johnson, who remains active well into his late 70s. It’s available as a limited-edition 7-inch with a custom sleeve and clear vinyl. (The cover art is incredible!!!)
