Format

12inch 3290 JPY

A rare UK rubber rock track. A cover of Sister Sledge’s “Easier To Love” released by Sonia on CHA CHA MUSIC. While the original fades out after five minutes, this is a previously unreleased long version—a disco mix style that transitions into the “Second Half Version”! Includes two additional versions.

"Easier To Love" by Sonia (Sonia Ferguson), released in 1980—an early release from CHA CHA MUSIC, the legendary UK reggae label that launched acts like The Wild Bunch (which later evolved into Massive Attack and Soul II Soul) and also released tracks by Creation Rebel. It’s a cover of Sister Sledge’s song. This 12-inch was released simultaneously with the 7-inch, but features a different version from the 7-inch. A1 is a previously unreleased DISCO MIX version that begins with the original vocal parts and transitions into a remix in the second half. Originally released as a five-minute fade-out, this is now being released for the first time in its full-length form. The mix is particularly compelling, as it bears a resemblance to the dub techniques later employed by MAD PROFESSOR. The release also includes an “Alternative Version” featuring Dean Frazer’s saxophone prominently, as well as another previously unreleased dub. (Original Japanese text by Saito)
