Format

12inch ---- JPY

Minimal Tribal—rhythmic, melodic, avant-garde, punkish dance science! Highly recommended. Produced and recorded between 2006 and 2017 by ORI LICHTIK, the charismatic figure of Tel Aviv’s underground techno scene. He infuses a deeply twisted tribal essence with a minimal-based hypnotic groove.

The first release in the catalog of the emerging label 〈VAX-RECORDS-BERLIN〉. The tenacity of “Half Life” (sample 1), where tribal percussion and dark, punk-inspired half-tom synthesis create a hypnotic, polyrhythmic minimal groove. Also featured are “Nu” (sample 2), an industrial breaks track where high-end, piercing drums and a heavy bassline echo each other, and “Bill” (sample 3), a distorted, mutant dancehall-esque track. An experimental left-field work swirling with industrial, post-punk, tribal, and polyrhythmic elements. It doesn’t appear to be available as a digital release at the moment, but this feels like a masterpiece in the making. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
