One of the very few South American groups (Brazilian/Argentine) active in Europe during the 1980s, El Calefón self-produced and self-released this album in Zurich, Switzerland in 1985 — a one-of-a-kind crossover fusion of Argentine and Brazilian music, rock & pop, jazz/fusion, tropical Latin, reggae and more, resulting in a wistful South American saudade MPB-rock sound that's wildly original, refreshing and utterly captivating. This buried treasure gets its first-ever LP reissue worldwide, courtesy of Athens Of The North.

Formed by two Europe-based Argentines — multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and composer Coqui Recaand and guitarist Pablo Miguez — El Calefón was a group of Argentines and Brazilians, most of whom had originally come to Europe as tourists and then kept making music while living there without papers. Self-produced and self-released in Zurich, Switzerland in 1985, the album is an utterly original and captivating slice of wistful South American saudade MPB-rock, built on a singular crossover fusion of Argentine and Brazilian music, European rock & pop, jazz/fusion, tropical Latin, reggae and more. Nine tracks that, more than 40 years after they were recorded, still shine with a miraculous, forever-green glow. First-ever analog LP reissue worldwide. From Athens Of The North.
