Repress! DA POSSE’s “The Other Side”—a classic representing the dawn of Chicago house in the late 1980s—is getting its first official 12-inch release after more than 30 years! Although the credits were incorrect at the time of its original release and false information circulated, it has since been confirmed that HULA MAHONE composed the track. Raw, minimal, and hypnotic. A timeless masterpiece where bouncy acid and soulful vocals intertwine exquisitely.
Track List
The acid house classic “The Other Side,” produced by the legendary project DA POSSE—which played a key role in the early development of Chicago house and featured a fluid lineup of Chicago producers such as DJ PIERRE and STEVE “SILK” HURLEY—is being released for the first time as a 12-inch single with accurate credits! When it was included on the 1988 NEEDLE RECORDS compilation album *Acid Tracks Vol. 3*, incorrect artist information was listed, leading to widespread misinformation; however, after all this time, this crucial correction has finally been made. A timeless classic that mesmerizes the dance floor with MARTELL’s soulful vocals and vibrant, melodic acid. Remixes by GARRY TODD (founder of *ISLAND LIFE RECORDS*) under the alias CLOUDS OF KOUROS, JOHNNY AUX (a member of PARANOID LONDON), and AGE OF HYPERION! (Original Japanese text by Akie)
