inrain was a limited-time project formed by Rudy Tambala and Alison Shaw during their respective careers with A.R. Kane (the pioneers who coined the term “dream pop” for themselves) and the Cranes—both cutting-edge acts in the UK alternative scene around 1990 who helped lay the foundation for dream pop. Based on the three tracks from the 7-inch released by Rough Trade in 1991, this 12-inch reissue includes the previously unreleased track “Biology,” recorded in 2012. Composed of early sampling equipment, drum machines, acoustic guitar, and understated vocals, the album showcases a visionary sound that blends elements of shoegaze, dub, ambient, and trip-hop. Music From Memory has meticulously remastered the recording from the original DAT tape, carefully restoring the texture of that era.
