Featuring vocals sung in the Acehnese language—spoken in the Sumatra region of Indonesia—and a mystical soundscape infused with saxophone, this is a dark electronic/electronic masterpiece that opens the door to a different culture. A new release from MYS, featuring the talented BIG HANDS—who explores electronic music across a wide range of fields, including his own avant-garde bass sound project *BAROQUESUNBURST* and the electronic-acoustic mecca *MARIONETTE*—this is a meditative sound trip extracted from a three-hour improvised live session.
Track List

In projects such as AL WOOTTON’s *TRULE* and *OSCILLA SOUND*, he develops avant-garde bass sounds that make full use of rhythmic experimentation, while—rooted in the prestigious *HONEST JON’S* , the multi-talented BIG HANDS—who explores everything from free jazz to electronics—and the experimental music trio MYS follow up their release on 〈MEAKUSMA〉 with a work offering a profound listening experience on 〈ESPERPENTO〉. The 21-minute “Amen I” (sample 1), which draws you in from the very beginning with the bewitching sound of Acehnese vocals, is a meditative journey where the inner groove is shaken by deep, pulsating electronics. With its enigmatic samples, the Indonesian traditional percussion instrument angklung, tenor saxophone, and instruments that appear only to be swallowed up, listening for an extended period creates a sensation where your own subconscious overlaps with the deep electronics.
