Originally included only on the 1993 CD *Magic Tracks (Deep Detroit Volume Two)*, compiled by JUAN ATKINS, this release marks the first-ever official vinyl release, featuring these tracks alongside three previously unreleased songs produced around the same time! A minimalist machine-funk masterpiece produced by Detroit legend HEINRICH MUELLER (DREXCIYA, ARPANET, DOPPLEREFFEKT, etc.) under the alias INTELLITRONIC. A pure electro sound that foreshadows his later DER ZYKLUS work.

“Pixel” (sample 1) is a minimal machine funk track that preserves the distinctive pulse and pad textures characteristic of ’80s retro electro while being refined with Detroit-style, intricate mechanical sounds—its solid foundation makes its intense funkiness all the more striking. Also being reissued simultaneously are three completely unreleased tracks from the same period, including “Inkjet”—a precursor to the more aggressive and hard-hitting sound associated with the DOPPLEREFFEKT moniker—alongside other tracks that served as the seeds for subsequent projects. With the reissues of DREXCIYA’s past works steadily progressing, this is a massive discovery from Gerald Donald—especially considering that it was once thought nearly impossible to unearth completely unreleased material, even including related works. It’s truly impressive. (Original Japanese text by Akie)
