Stone Music, led by Tokio Hasegawa, an original member of the Taj Mahal Tour Group. Following their debut CD on 〈Room40〉, this is their first vinyl release on 〈Aguirre〉. A documentation of outdoor improvisational performances held in diverse settings—at the Mithila Art Museum in Niigata and the environmental music festival CAMP Off-Tone. Features two mysterious, free-form, extended tracks. The record is already sold out at the label.
Track List

Formed in 2022 around Tokio Hasegawa, Stone Music brings together musicians active in Japan’s ambient and experimental music scene. This project carries forward the free-spirited musical practices of the Taj Mahal Traveling Troupe—active since the late 1960s—into the present day; the two tracks on this release, each exceeding 20 minutes in length, are both live recordings made outdoors. Side A features a performance from CAMP Off-Tone in Yamanashi in 2023, while Side B features a performance on the grounds of the Mithila Art Museum in Niigata, which Hasegawa himself operates. By layering vocals, string resonances, electronic sounds, wind instruments, and percussive elements with the natural surroundings, this unedited, unhurried cosmic musical experience constantly shifts in form alongside the mountain air.
