SPACE GHOST—who has consistently delivered great releases not only on his own label, PEACE WORLD RECORDS, but also on APRON and PEOPLES POTENTIAL UNLIMITED—has finally dropped his long-awaited new album! He draws strong inspiration from the soundtracks of PS2-era games he actually played, such as Sega Genesis and Crash Bandicoot. (The track “System Reset” evokes an alternate version of that famous startup screen.) This nostalgic soundscape—which fuses the distinctive spatial effects characteristic of that era’s sound with his own exploration of beatdown ambient “machine house”—resonates with the chill-out vibe of Nishikigashi.
