This album pays homage to the sound created in a “shoebox” studio—a very small space crammed full of equipment, which was both charming and fraught with various limitations. I wonder how his jazz-inspired skills, his sensibilities for psychedelic rock, soft rock, and West Coast hip-hop, and his outstanding songwriting will come together on this release.
