The A side opens with two ambient pieces: "Inception," gritty and haunting, built from field recordings and layered chords, and the dreamier "Regulator Dial." "Air Lock" and "DFtB" turn breaky and lowtempo, evoking early electronica. The flip moves through "Waterproof's" downtempo electro and "Make Right," the LP's most club-ready cut. Title track "Bean Soup" channels early Four Tet: bleepy, minimal, emotional, while "Sunlight" closes with blissful, calming sounds, rounding out a beautifully balanced record. Tudor Gheorghe, aka Romansoff, is a Bucharest DJ, producer and vinyl collector with over 13 years on the capital's underground scene. Inspired by small local parties in the 2000s, he started collecting vinyl, then DJing, quickly becoming a key figure in the Bucharest club scene. Since founding his imprint Raw Tools in 2013, he's released on Lobster Theremin's Mork, Creme Organization, Les Yeux Orange and Solar Phenomena. In 2018 he co-founded venue Platforma Wolff, a full club by 2021, as booker and resident, hosting headliners like Prosumer, Paramida and Tornado Wallace. Versatile and creative, he stays a fixture at Bucharest's best nights. His debut LP lands this year on Bar Ton's vinyl label.
『A面は2つのアンビエント・トラックで幕を開ける。フィールド・レコーディングと重なり合うコードで構成された、荒々しくも心に残る「Inception」と、より夢幻的な「Regulator Dial」だ。「Air Lock」と「DFtB」はブレイクビーツ調でローテンポな曲調となり、初期のエレクトロニカを彷彿とさせる。 B面は、「Waterproof」のダウンテンポ・エレクトロを経て、本作で最もクラブ向きのトラック「Make Right」へと続く。タイトルトラック「Bean Soup」は、ビープ音が響くミニマルで情感豊かなサウンドで、初期のFour Tetを彷彿とさせる。一方、「Sunlight」は至福感に満ちた穏やかなサウンドで締めくくり、美しくバランスの取れたアルバムを完成させている。 Tudor Gheorghe（別名Romansoff）は、ブカレストを拠点とするDJ、プロデューサー、そしてレコードコレクターであり、同市のアンダーグラウンド・シーンで13年以上のキャリアを持つ。2000年代の地元の小規模なパーティーに触発され、レコード収集を始め、その後DJ活動を開始し、瞬く間にブカレストのクラブシーンにおける重要人物となった。 2013年に自身のレーベル「Raw Tools」を設立して以来、Lobster Thereminの「Mork」、Creme Organization、Les Yeux Orange、Solar Phenomenaなどから作品をリリースしている。 2018年には会場「Platforma Wolff」を共同設立し、2021年までに本格的なクラブへと発展させ、ブッカー兼レジデントとして、Prosumer、Paramida、Tornado Wallaceといったヘッドライナーを招いてきた。 多才でクリエイティブな彼は、ブカレストの最高のナイトイベントにおいて欠かせない存在であり続けている。彼のデビューLPは今年、Bar Tonのヴァイナル・レーベルからリリースされる予定だ。 (インフォメーションより)』
