On the new release from modern house and electro label 〈HAŴS〉, BOULDERHEAD makes an appearance—an artist who has pioneered tech house with a unique approach on releases such as 〈SEX TAPES FROM MARS〉 and 〈MINDHELMET〉, in addition to the ones mentioned above! “Practice” (sample 1) is an unconventional tribal tech track that opens with a glitchy, minimal kick before gradually layering in hand percussion and bass. “Sunshine,” a house workout featuring a catchy vocal hook, has been remixed by modular house genius JORG KUNING into a surprisingly slow-motion arrangement—a complex remix that creates a hypnotic groove rich in texture.
