An EP by Alan Russell—known for his releases on Pagan’s “Ghettoblaster” and “Splice Of Life” in the ’90s—celebrating the 30th anniversary of Black Vinyl Records, a legendary UK deep house label. This is the second installment. Kicking things off is “Especiale (Carnival Mix),” a Latin deep house track originally released in 2000 on Black Vinyl Records by Fresh & Low—a member of the DIY collective that hosted free raves with their own sound system in Notting Hill during the ’90s and known for releases on labels like Guidance. “Especiale (Carnival Mix)”—originally released by Black Vinyl Records in 2000—leads this EP, which consists of four tracks, including Kerri Chandler’s 1999 track “We Can.” Notting Hill is also famous for the Notting Hill Carnival, organized by the Caribbean immigrant community.
