Curated by label founder Matt Soulie, this selection thoughtfully bridges the past and present of Japanese electronic music based on the label’s aesthetic, allowing listeners to once again appreciate its global influence and depth. Starting with Yosi Horikawa’s fresh electronica—which opens with the sound of a ping-pong ball rolling—this collection features tracks from the 2016 CDs by Chari Chari, Force Of Nature, and XTAL; up-and-coming artist Yuu Udagawa, who has also released solo work under the names Takuya Matsumoto and Cosmocities; a Slow Didi remix by Kuniyuki, DJ Eiji Takehana, Tominori Hosoya, Azzurro, and AcidGelge (909state)—all the way to new tracks from 2025. Featuring 11 artists—including tracks making their vinyl debut—this collection spans Japan’s unique electronic soundscapes from the 2000s onward, encompassing deep house, future jazz, experimental electronics, ambient, and more.
