きっかけは、母がかつてサイゴンで有名なシンガーだったことを知った彼女のアメリカ在住の娘さんが2020年初頭にリサーチを開始。そこでSublime Frequenciesから2010年に出た名盤"Saigon Rock and Soul" を編纂したMark Gergisに相談、共に現地入りして膨大な音源を発掘。このレコードにつながったそうです。
