Although it originates from a ghetto where red dust swirls, these surprisingly urban, sexy, and smooth sounds might be perceived as somewhat softer and more commercial compared to the dark, underground GQOM. However, the light beats, melodramatic fusion-style/ jazz-infused melodies, combined with a unique African-Caribbean sense of rhythm that’s distinctly different from that of the West, are absolutely delightful. It’s simply the best. If you get a chance, please give it a listen! !! Not only does it feature South African, tropical, and Caribbean flavors, but it’s also a gem of jazzy deep house with elegant, smooth crossover R&B and soul influences that effortlessly incorporate those elements. 60〜80年代のタイのレコード（THAI FUNK、POP、DISCO、ルークトゥン、モーラム等）のレコードでMIX CDを作りました。
古巣・日本橋RHBの開店前、無人のフロアにSTUDIO MOJO（たかおくん）が高感度ステレオマイクを立ててライブ録音したミックスCD "THE GODFATHER OF THAILAND"、マスタリングはDEVIL TOMATO（VIVASHERRY）、ジャケデザインはDR.SATOMATA（実験的談話室　主水）。
１０年近く集め続けたタイのレコードから吟味を重ねた１トラック７０分２２曲収録です。

ガレージパンクの奇妙なコンピで育ってきた自覚があるので、レコード選んでる時は「VA/BIG ITCH」シリーズを思い出 ...Read moreしたり、録音時のワイルドにたたみかけるミックス前半は「VA/I WAS A TEENAGE CAVEMAN」の気分だったり、何よりも「VA/BACK FROM THE GRAVE」のような、まだ誰も知らない、体系化されていない＜沼＞のようなタイ音楽の世界のカッコよさと楽しさそして狂気のようなものを、ワールドミュージック愛好家よりもガレージ好き、ソウルリスナー、ロックファンに聴いてもらい、ショックを受けていただきたい・・・！
たとえば本ミックス８曲目、Suang Santiによる「Khao Mai Rak Rao Rhok」という曲を聴いて欲しい。Suang Santiは「ルークトゥン・アンダーグラウンド」という新しい概念を標榜したロッカーだという。もしもルー・リードがタイに生まれていればベルベット・アンダーグラウンドのセカンドアルバムはこんな音になってたのでは？というくらいに凄まじい緊張感が迸るトラックであります（歌よりブレイクの方が長いのもシビれる）。

タイに行ったことが無く、タイ語もまるでダメなDJ（私）が、先輩や友人のDJたちに勧められたり、頑張って試聴URLを探してヤフオクで買ったり、赤羽で悩んだり、あるいは催事やメルカリで安かったからという理由でかなりの遠回りをして買い集めたレコードたち。
踊れるか驚けるか。
それとも泣けるか。
泣けて踊れるか。
そんな基準で選んだ名曲、怪曲、珍曲ばかりです。
おそろしいことにこれらの音源はまだまだ氷山の一角のそのまた一角の一角以下に過ぎません・・・豊穣にして迷宮のようなタイ音楽の世界、その魅力の一端をお楽しみいただけれれば本望です。
