The "R We There Yet? EP is a split EP by Stefan Ringer, who is based in his hometown of Atlanta but has become a driving force in the next generation of the House scene worldwide, and Takuro Higuchi, owner of the record store Dotei. We met when Stefan first came to Japan in 2023, and in 2024 we toured several cities in Japan, deepening our relationship. Stefan came to my house and said, "I've got all the gear, but I haven't been able to finish the songs. I said, "I'll give it a try. I'm gonna try. (I'm gonna try," to which he replied, "You don't just try. You are not just trying. (You are not just trying. You are doing it. The title of this work, "We There Yet?" is a phrase that is repeated in the song "Road to Shizuoka" in A2. Am I (you) making progress? The message is a sublimation of the thoughts and feelings that I had on the road from Hachioji to Shizuoka, and it is a message that asks questions about life, daily activities, and spirituality. Please enjoy Taizo Watanabe's artwork, which is based on the theme of encounters that transcend place and time.

Great groove — restrained, yet the beat, panning delays and synths gradually build up, revealing a real knack for arrangement. A quality dance track of a kind you'd think was common but rarely actually come across. (Saito)

About the release
"Who's Next EP is the second EP from Chiba-based DJ/track maker Takesu, who debuted on DTR-003 with ...Read more the Tales Of King Spider EP. Roughly four years have passed since that record, and in the meantime he reached a major life milestone in becoming a father, all while staying active as a DJ — mainly through Who's Next, the party he throws in his local Uchibo area (which lends this release its title), and Homework, another event he hosts. At the same time, he kept making tracks day after day in the room that has, just barely, escaped being overrun by his son's toys. This also marks the label's tenth release, and the fact that the record-making process — something we were both fumbling through for the first time back then — has already become second nature made us feel the passage of time. It was rather like getting back together in your late twenties with the girlfriend you dated in high school: tossing emptiness and maturity into the solvent of time and cooking up a bouillabaisse. Somehow nostalgic, yet unmistakably a new flavor. There we were, still able to get excited about the same things, and also no longer satisfied by the same things. The Sanyu bird soared high into the Chiba sky, and then vanished back into the clouds. Where does this road lead?"

The music is lush dream house that elicits euphoria out of the speakers and into the body. Mike Kee has been chasing this feeling across his music and here it lands cleanly.
